My favorite, #2 - Throw away the newspaper each night, even if you haven’t read it yet. Same should go for the magazines, but in the span of the month.
Great way to hang plants and use inexpensive mason jars!
I’m there! Sat. Aug. 30 from 3 to 6pm!

I love finding new ways to reuse what you already have into something new and wonderful!! Especially when it saves you the gas to get to Target ($10), the amount you would spend while being at Target ($100), using your creative brain versus spening money = PRICELESS!

Unclutter did a review of the product that lets you get your stuff organized in inventory language. http://unclutterer.com/2008/08/25/know-your-stuff-home-inventory-software/
This is a great way to use those extra magazine holders. Could use this concept in the kids play room for small stuffed animals and such.

Warren and I love the Netflix. But ever since the Roku has come into our lives, we watch more the streamlined videos than the discs now. If only all movies were available online, I wouldn’t see the need for mailing discs via snail mail, when you get them instantly to the tv!

I am a subscriber to Denise Austin’s Morning Stretch, a daily newsletter with various tips and stories related to living a healthy lifestyle. Today, she pointed out that cleaning is a great way to burn calories. From washing windows to sweeping the floor, a whoppin’ 200 calories are gone just as well as the dust. Check out the ‘Deniseology’ too.

Do Some Summer Cleaning!

Here’s a good reason to embark on a summer cleaning spree — all that work can burn as many calories as a standard workout! Don’t believe me? Rearranging furniture burns an amazing 400 calories per hour, for example! Washing windows, vacuuming, and sweeping all burn 200 calories per hour! Perhaps gardening is more your style? No problem — you’ll burn 300 calories mowing the lawn, raking up leaves, or tending your garden!
Whatever household work you like to do, remember it all adds up. It’s never a waste! So roll up those sleeves and get started! You’ll be shrinking fat cells — and getting things in order — every step of the way!

Turn idle time into exercise time! You can tone your muscles whether you’re in the kitchen or in front of the TV — no sweat required!
A great resource for figuring out what to do with that dapple of mayonaise leftover in the bottle. Everything from Salsa to Pickle Relish.

Here’s an article on someone’s tips to a successful yard sale’s aftermath. My favs are listed here.
-Let neighbors have a sneak peak, they might be your biggest sales.
-Immediately take all that was not sold to a local donation drop off site.
-Give away freebies, they reduce the amount you have to haul off later on.
